- extra mile
Led · Seed · Feb 2026
Founded in July 2020, extra mile is a 100% subsidiary of TV Asahi Music and focuses on IP content businesses leveraging Web3 technologies. Its flagship product, HANASEE, converts written novels or scripts into high-quality manga by coordinating specialized AI agents for illustration, scripting, and panel layout, thereby overcoming consistency issues typical of generative image tools. The system automatically optimizes comic-specific elements such as eye-guidance and page-turn rhythm, while allowing creators to direct and fine-tune story details through dialogue with the AI agents. extra mile is also building “Xross Road,” an IP creation and distribution infrastructure that will let HANASEE-generated works be published and sold with transparent revenue-sharing; a rights-management system is slated for launch by 2026. The company offers existing IP holders a rapid, low-cost way to test markets and expand franchises via manga adaptations. Proceeds from the latest financing will be used to strengthen the development team behind HANASEE.
- Xross Road
Led · Seed · Feb 2026
Xross Road is an IP infrastructure project backed by TV Asahi Group–owned extra mile Inc., aiming to streamline the discovery, production and global distribution of Japanese anime and manga properties. Its core product, HANASEE, is an AI manga-creation tool that links specialised illustration, script and layout agents to maintain character and world consistency while replicating professional storytelling techniques. The system is trained with active manga artists through a human-in-the-loop process and offers interactive editing so writers without drawing skills can turn their stories into publishable manga. A closed beta of HANASEE opened to invite-only users alongside the funding announcement. The company plans to introduce a rights-management and transparent revenue-sharing system on its platform by 2026 and is actively pursuing partnerships for IP adaptation tests and wider media mix opportunities. Financially, Xross Road has secured US$1.5 million in pre-seed capital to expand its development team and refine the tool ahead of wider release.
- Vivident
Participated · Seed · Jan 2025
Vivident is developing MoeLive, a platform that creates anime-style character IPs using generative AI and blends Japanese animation culture with K-pop entertainment systems. The product generates unique characters with distinct personalities and supports autonomous performance through generative AI, real-time livestreaming, multi-user participation, and social media interactions. MoeLive includes an interactive growth system that lets fans participate in character development via activities and voting, and allows users to create and operate their own AI characters. Vivident plans to launch a beta service in the first half of 2025 and target simultaneous releases in South Korea, Japan, and the United States by the end of 2025. The company was founded in May 2024 and will use the seed funding to develop its first service. The founding team has experience at Krafton, Hyperconnect, Neosapience, Supertone, and UNOPND.
- Open Social
Participated · Seed · May 2024
OpenSocial Protocol provides open-source, modular social infrastructure and tooling (feed, chatrooms, posts, on-chain social graphs, tribes, megaphones and plug-ins such as token issuance, DAO tools, bounties and mini-games) to let creators and communities compose apps quickly and economically. The stack supports both on-chain and off-chain features and emphasizes true ownership of intellectual property, community relationships, and aligned monetization. The project is built by Everest Ventures Group and aims to deploy its infrastructure across major chains while offering a customizable UI layer for creators, moderators, and users. Early product traction includes SoMon, the first app on the protocol, which reached over 30,000 onchain active users in two weeks, ~20 minutes average engagement, and over 300,000 onchain transactions (excluding spam bots). EVG has deployed ~80 developers to develop the infrastructure and OpenSocial aims to help empower and launch 1,000 community apps by 2025. Financially, OpenSocial has raised a total of $26 million to date (a prior $5 million seed round plus $15 million in ecosystem funds, and the new $6 million strategic backing). OpenSocial Protocol is a composable infrastructure layer for building social applications that enables developers and creators to build multichain SocialFi dApps. It provides UI-layer composabilities, ownership of intellectual property and relationships, and monetisation and financial incentives for communities. The protocol has launched its first dApp, SoMon, a decentralized topic-based forum owned by users and communities with degen mechanics and sustainable rewards. Everest Ventures Group (EVG) founded OpenSocial and has set aside a $15M ecosystem fund to support developer adoption; there are 50 additional developers building dApps on OpenSocial outside of EVG. The company says it will use the new funding to expand operations and development efforts. OpenSocial aims to improve community dApps through composable infrastructure and UI-layer building blocks.
