  • Sibel Health

    Led · Series C · Mar 2025

Founded in 2018, Chicago-based Sibel Health offers the ANNE® platform, a suite of FDA-cleared wearable sensors integrated with mobile software, cloud analytics, and AI-driven algorithms to capture continuous, real-world vital-sign data. The system is already paired with Samsung mobile devices for waveform display and alerting and is used by leading pharmaceutical companies through the Discovery platform to collect home-based data for clinical trials. Sibel aims to move healthcare from episodic, reactive monitoring to continuous, predictive clinical intelligence. Recent strategic collaborations with Maruho focus on dermatology-related digital therapeutics, starting with an itch-monitoring application. The company maintains an international presence with an office in Seoul and touts a mission of delivering “Better Health Data for All®.” Financially, Sibel has brought its total Series C funding to $39 million, supported by a mix of healthcare, strategic, and technology investors. Two new board appointments—Kimberly Querrey as Chairwoman and Tim Sullivan as an independent director—add governance and healthcare commercialization expertise to guide upcoming growth.

  • Kuva Systems

    Led · Series A · Jan 2023

Kuva Systems offers an image-based continuous monitoring solution that produces clear gas-plume images to detect, size and quantify methane emissions for oil and gas operators. Its camera-based system is positioned to enable cost-effective root-cause analysis, operational optimization, high-quality emissions data and regulatory compliance. The solution has been approved for regulatory use in jurisdictions including Colorado, New Mexico and Alberta. Kuva plans to use new proceeds to expand marketing, operations and product development, commercialize additional features, and grow its Calgary-based team. The company operates offices in Boston, Houston, Midland and Calgary. Financially, Kuva announced CAD 4,079,895 (approx. $3M) in interest-free, repayable federal funding from PrairiesCan that complements $5.7M recently received from prior investors, bringing the announced total to $8.7M to support market expansion. Kuva Systems is a Cambridge-based company that uses short-wave infrared cameras and IoT to autonomously monitor methane emissions at oil and gas facilities. Its platform detects leaks and automatically alerts clients with the time, location and intensity of releases. More than 20 oil and gas companies use Kuva’s technology to fix and prevent methane leaks and meet methane-related ESG targets. CEO Stefan Bokaemper said customers value the solution because it is intuitive, comprehensive and does not generate false alerts. The company expects platform growth driven by new regulations and rising interest in certified differentiated gas. Kuva raised $11.3 million in a Series A to scale its technology. Kuva Systems (formerly MultiSensor Scientific) offers an industrial IoT solution that continuously monitors and quantifies methane and VOC emissions using a low-cost infrared imaging system and cloud-based analytics. The platform automatically generates color-coded video clips and annotated release data when emission events are detected, enabling direct alerts and integration with customers’ work-order and production systems. Kuva emphasizes low false-positive rates and claims robustness to thermal infrared background variability that confuses other IR solutions. The company positions its offering to help oil and gas firms meet ESG and methane-intensity goals while lowering total cost of ownership by reducing secondary manual inspections. Kuva is beginning field installations at up to 100 sites in Alberta, with additional field testing planned in Texas. The company highlights a strong intellectual property portfolio protected by six issued patents, 15 patent applications, and numerous trade secrets. Concurrent with its industrial focus, the business rebranded from MultiSensor Scientific to Kuva Systems.
