Mozper offers a Visa debit card and companion app designed to modernize weekly allowances and provide hands-on financial education for children in Latin America. Parents can give allowances, set spending rules, assign chores and create and track savings goals through the platform. The company launched a closed beta in Mexico with 500 families, retained over 90% of those users, and saw consistent growth of 20% week over week after a public launch. Mozper launched in Mexico three months before the announced raise and is currently available there. The company plans to deepen product functionality, scale the organization and expand into Brazil in 2021. Founders Pablo Klestorny, Yael Israeli and Gabriel Roizner began building Mozper in January 2020. Mozper provides a debit card and companion app that parents and children can both access, aiming to teach financial education to Latin American families. The product will be fee-based for card access and mirrors U.S./European offerings like Greenlight and GoHenry. The company launched its initial market in Mexico in late July, uses Toka as its sponsor bank, and is working to obtain a fintech license from the Mexican government. Mozper has partnered with Visa for card processing services. The founding team includes Yael Israeli (former Lehman Brothers and Barclays banker), serial entrepreneur Gabriel Roizner, and CTO Pablo Klestorny. The startup is part of Y Combinator’s latest cohort and has raised capital to support its launch.
