Osium AI builds AI tools to speed materials innovation by predicting physical properties and optimizing formulations, shortening the feedback loop between formulation and testing. The startup’s proprietary technology helps industrial customers refine new materials while avoiding trial-and-error mistakes. Founders Sarah Najmark and Luisa Bouneder bring experience from Google X, robotics, and industrial data products and currently comprise the company’s two-person team. Osium AI has raised a $2.6M seed round and is beginning to turn pilot contracts into commercial business. Several industrial companies are already testing the solution, and the startup is in talks with about 30 potential clients across industries such as aeronautics, construction, packaging, textiles and smartphones. Early users reported the solution can accelerate development and analysis by a factor of 10, and the company plans to ramp up hiring to scale delivery.
