  • FreshKet

    Participated · Series A · Sep 2020

Freshket offers a B2B e-commerce marketplace and linked order, warehouse and logistics management systems that connect farmers and processing centers directly with restaurants and consumers in Thailand. The company does not stock produce itself; instead it coordinates daily supply with its network so farmers can plan and minimize waste. Freshket provides users with data to help predict supply and demand and says its B2B food delivery business benefits from high average order values that support unit economics. Co-founded in 2017 by CEO Ponglada Paniangwet and CMO Tuangploi Chiwalaksanangkoon, the startup aims to be an enabler for the entire food supply chain and to increase farmers’ incomes and produce quality. Freshket competes with traditional supply chains and consumer grocery delivery apps by offering lower retail prices, more precise delivery and a wider variety of products and gradings. The company cites a significant market opportunity: Euromonitor estimated Thailand’s food service market at over $7.7 billion in annual purchases across more than 200,000 restaurants.
