- NeoPrediX
Participated · Series A · Mar 2021
NeoPrediX develops predictive analytics solutions for neonatal, maternal, and perinatal health. The company focuses on improving outcomes for newborns worldwide through innovative, evidence-based clinical technology. A recent investment from Springhood Ventures will accelerate the development and deployment of NeoPrediX’s solutions. NeoPrediX aims to scale its offerings to bring predictive tools to the neonatal community faster. The company and investor emphasize a shared mission of improving neonatal health globally. Springhood’s support is intended to help NeoPrediX navigate the journey from concept to impactful solutions. NeoPrediX is a University of Basel spin‑off that develops software to support medical staff in the early detection and treatment of perinatal and neonatal diseases and complications. Its tools aim to identify common newborn conditions — the article notes more than half of infants are affected by jaundice — and to flag cases that may progress to life‑threatening courses requiring timely intervention. Founded in 2020, the company operates from Basel and Regensburg and currently employs ten people. In a Series A financing NeoPrediX raised CHF 4.1 million. The proceeds will be used to further develop its medical early‑detection solutions so the prediction tools can recognize additional disease presentations and complications. CEO Thorsten Waloschek said the company's experienced and well‑capitalized investors will help with optimization and long‑term market establishment.
- Redwing
Participated · Seed · Feb 2021
Redwing Labs builds an on-demand drone network and end-to-end technology stack to create a virtual cold chain for healthcare logistics, delivering blood, vaccines, anti-venoms, cardiac medicines and diagnostics. The company uses a proprietary Hybrid VTOL drone design that combines vertical takeoff/landing with long-range flight and can deliver packages up to 50 kilometers, perform multiple stops, and enable reverse logistics. Redwing operates a hub-and-spoke distribution model where hubs serve as distribution centers and spokes are primary and community healthcare centers, enabling deliveries that the company says are four times faster than conventional transport and independent of poor road infrastructure. The startup focuses on reducing cold-chain reliance at point-of-care, lowering wastage, and improving timely diagnosis and treatment in remote and crisis settings. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic it aims to partner with state health departments, private hospitals, and vaccine distributors to scale rural delivery. The team has received 12 awards, been felicitated by NASA, Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Airbus, and is backed by Techstars; the company recently closed a seed financing to further develop its technology stack and partnerships.
- Urban Farmers
Participated · Series A · Apr 2015

Led by CEO Roman Gaus, UrbanFarmers focuses on scaling urban food production through localized, sustainable farming solutions. The company intends to fast-track international farm development projects and build internal engineering, procurement & contracting capabilities. Proceeds from its recent financing will be used to strengthen proprietary operating technology and the UF brand. The business has rolled previous investor commitments into its current financing via a prior convertible bond offering.
