Listen Current curates audio stories from 15 public radio partners, including NPR, and pairs them with comprehension and discussion questions for free; a premium tier adds interactive transcripts, customizable assignments and English‑learner supports. The content spans science, English language arts, social studies and current events, and the company plans to add a multiple‑choice listening assessment component in the fall. Schools and districts in 19 states are paying for the tool, and the startup also has users among adult learners in Spain and high school teachers in Brazil. Listen Current has a sales distribution agreement with JIEM to help expand in Asian markets and is focused on serving U.S. middle and high school students and community college learners.
