- Inmedical Therapeutics
Led · Equity · Jan 2024
Inmedical Therapeutics closed a first funding round of €800,000 with participation from Viscofan and Basque FCR (managed by Gestión de Capital Riesgo del País Vasco - Grupo Spri). The operation was led and advised by Elkargi, which handled analysis, valuation, structure, investor search, and negotiation of terms. Founded in 2020 and formed by four companies including I+Med, the Vitoria-Gasteiz–based startup is developing a medical device product referred to in the article as Covergel/Convergel to reduce complications in therapeutic endoscopies. Convergel is described as an easy-to-use, cost-effective bioadhesive regenerative platform that covers resection sites to prevent delayed bleeding and perforation while accelerating mucosal healing; the technology is transformable toward other medical solutions. The company has completed preclinical studies and has initiated clinical trials at several hospitals in the Basque Country, with a plan to begin commercialization in 2025 if results are positive.

Founded in 2018 and led by cofounders Silvia Romero and Alberto Aznar, the company says it has doubled its business volume each year to date. Growth to date has been largely organic with minimal customer acquisition spend; the new funding is intended to accelerate growth through marketing and commercial effort. Management targets managing €400M in transactions over the next four years. The company will also leverage the equity raise with a €100,000 bank loan supported by a guarantee from ELKARGI. Beseif operates a payments-and-shipping platform targeted at peer-to-peer marketplaces, with its product live at beseif.com. The company has processed more than €1,000,000 in second-hand transactions and integrated its service into 12 marketplaces since launch. Cofounders Alberto Aznar and Silvia Romero say the firm will develop a blockchain-based core banking layer to enable dynamic smart-contract generation and personalized payment systems. Planned 2020 product expansions include broader shipping options (including large-volume items like furniture) and new payment modalities such as installment payments. The company launched its platform in 2018 and is based in San Sebastián (Guipúzcoa).
