  • Speedbird Aero

    Participated · Series A · Feb 2026

Speedbird Aero is a Brazilian startup focused on unmanned aerial logistics, designing and manufacturing its own fleet of 35 delivery drones that can transport food, lab samples, and other small payloads. The company has been working with food-delivery giant iFood since 2019 and has already completed more than 2,000 commercial drone deliveries on its Campinas and Aracaju pilot routes, with plans to launch service in the São Paulo metro area. Beyond Brazil, Speedbird’s aircraft are operating in Israel, Portugal, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and the team is preparing to enter the United States. To support this expansion, the firm is relocating its headquarters to São José dos Campos, close to strategic partner Embraer, whose venture fund MSW joined the cap table in an earlier round. Former Eve Air Mobility CEO André Stein will lead the startup’s new international phase. Financially, Speedbird raised R$35 million in a 2022 Series A and has now secured a US$5.8 million bridge round while planning a Series B for later in 2026. The fresh funds will be used to scale operations, secure additional regulatory certifications, and open new domestic and international routes.

  • EVE

    Participated · Equity · Jul 2024

Eve is an Embraer-controlled electric aircraft maker developing an eVTOL "flying taxi" for short city trips. The company rolled out a full-scale remote prototype at Embraer's Gaviao Peixoto plant and expects to fly it by late 2024 or early 2025; the final aircraft is planned to seat four passengers plus a pilot. Eve plans five conforming prototypes next year and a pre-series eVTOL by 2026 as part of its certification process, having applied for certification in 2022 to Brazil's civil aviation regulator. Financially, Eve debuted on the NYSE in 2022, raising nearly $400 million, later secured a $92 million loan from BNDES, and announced a new $94 million fundraising with investments from Embraer and Japan's Nidec. The company says the new investment covers cash needs through 2027, extending its runway from prior coverage through 2025. Eve has amassed nearly 3,000 potential orders (letters of intent) from interested clients including United, Global Crossing and Azorra, while noting infrastructure and power‑grid readiness as deployment challenges.
