  Exakt Health provides an AI-driven digital sports physiotherapy app that delivers personalised and dynamically adapting running training and injury-prevention programs. Its product is the first digital sports physiotherapy certified as a medical device in Germany. The company has partnered with German private insurer Barmenia to make the app available free to 300,000 of Barmenia’s customers and is pursuing collaborations with other insurers. CEO Philip Billaudelle says the app digitises professional coaching to adapt to users’ fitness, injuries, and progress, addressing limitations of static pre-packaged plans. Exakt Health plans to launch intelligent AI-based running training plans in the coming weeks and to conduct extensive clinical studies to provide ongoing medical validation. Management aims to grow its user base from 200,000 to over one million within 18 months and will use the new funding to expand the product and clinical validation. Exakt Health is a Berlin-based health tech startup that offers a free app providing digital physiotherapy for sports injuries. The platform delivers customised treatment plans and daily exercises across a range of conditions, including Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis and meniscus tears, and supports four languages. Founded in 2021 by ex-N26 employees Philipp Billaudelle and Lucia Payo, the app has over 8,000 users in the EU and the U.K. With the new funding, the company plans to roll out additional training plans for ankle sprains, gluteal muscle strains and patellar tendinitis. Exakt intends to seek FDA approval and use the capital to expand its app into the U.S. market. The company received a $1.5 million pre-seed funding round to support these product rollouts and international expansion.
