The Cobblers operates a technology-driven marketplace that enables leather restoration artisans to launch or expand businesses and offer services direct-to-consumer and via partnerships with luxury brands and department stores. The platform digitizes the customer experience and turnaround times while aiming to reduce environmental waste by extending product lifespans. The company announced an $8M seed financing and will use the funds to optimize its IT platform, expand the number of artisans, increase marketing, broaden services, and support geographic growth. The investment also provided for a European headquarters in Croatia. The Cobblers currently operates in the United States and anticipates expansion to Canada, Europe, Oceania, and Asia. Founder Warren Barthes, an experienced entrepreneur, said the funding validates the company’s strategy and will help grow its offering and artisan community.
