2gether is a Spanish fintech startup founded in 2017 that operates a mobile-first crypto trading platform and a VISA card, expanding to 22 European countries. Its core product offers commission-free crypto purchases at market price and a native token (2GT) that rewards users who contribute to the community. The company reports more than 70,000 users and monthly transaction volumes above €30 million. After a July 31, 2020 cyberattack that resulted in stolen BTC and ETH, 2gether has focused on strengthening security and its risk-coverage model while reimbursing affected users. The firm says 91% of affected users have already received their stolen BTC and ETH and that roughly 5,000 users have captured the subsequent crypto price appreciation; 1,800 affected users converted losses into capital and/or 2GT. Near-term plans include issuing the 2GT token via Bounce and enabling trading on Uniswap, with 50% of ETH acquired on Bounce allocated to the 2GT/ETH liquidity pool.
