AirWorks provides an AI-powered mapping platform that processes geospatial data and delivers analytics to project managers. The platform leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate historically manual data analysis using inputs from aircraft, drone, and LiDAR sensors. It serves verticals including architecture and engineering, telecommunications and utilities, and government services. The company says its solution helps customers reduce risk, improve efficiency, and deliver more projects faster by producing geospatial products and analytics they can trust. AirWorks plans to use the investment proceeds to fund product enhancements and innovation, expand go-to-market infrastructure, accelerate market penetration in key verticals, and grow its partner ecosystem. The company is based in Boston. AirWorks Solutions develops autonomous processing software for aerial mapping and surveying that interprets aerial data collected by drones, aircraft, and satellites. Using proprietary machine learning and computer-vision techniques, the software autonomously converts aerial datasets into CAD site plans and provides engineers with information about site features. Its product targets civil engineers and land developers to speed preliminary design, improve on-the-ground decision-making, reduce delays, and produce cost savings. AirWorks says it was the first company to launch an AI product for CAD drawing generation from aerial data in 2019 and has secured several large clients since then. Headquartered in Boston and founded in 2017, the company employs AI experts, full-stack developers, surveyors, GIS professionals, and civil engineers. With the new funding it will expand sales and customer-success teams, distribute its software across the U.S., and continue developing its self-service web application to further automate the aerial mapping process. AirWorks Solutions, led by CEO David Morczinek, builds aerial mapping software that interprets drone, aircraft and satellite data to help civil engineers and land developers assess and analyze construction sites in near real time. The company uses proprietary machine learning and aerial mapping technology to convert aerial datasets into fully autonomous CAD site plans. AirWorks says having this information early in the preliminary design process improves accuracy, decision-making, cost savings and reduces delays. The company secured $2.3M in seed funding to accelerate product development. AirWorks intends to use the funds to increase the speed of software development and to launch a comprehensive SaaS platform in 2019. The planned platform will centralize existing information, enable clients to order detailed aerial site inspections, expand market reach and reduce turnaround time for aerial site plans from seven days to 24 hours.
