- Arkeus
Participated · Series A · May 2026
Arkeus designs AI-powered hyperspectral sensing systems that enable autonomous drones to detect targets up to eight times farther than existing military optical systems in degraded conditions. Its solution processes electromagnetic-spectrum signals in seconds using a 4kg cube form factor, compared with traditional room-sized equipment that can require day-long processing. Founded in 2020 in Melbourne, the company reports that about 80% of its revenue comes from the U.S. market and that it works with the U.S. Department of Defense as well as manufacturers including Boeing and Textron. After closing a $25 million Series A at a $100 million valuation, Arkeus plans to establish manufacturing in Queensland and the United States to scale production.
- Forever Network
Participated · Series A · Mar 2024
Forever Network operates a social-first sports media platform covering breaking news, commentary, rumours and culture, anchored by its Basketball Forever brand. The company reports 8 million cross-platform subscribers and followers and monthly engagement of about 110 million unique users across 65 countries. Basketball Forever accounted for around 11% of every social action taken in Australia last year, and partnerships with brands such as Nike, Adidas and Under Armour drive revenue. Forever Network says it has grown roughly 28% annually over the past nine years. The company plans to use new capital to expand into the U.S. in the second half of 2024, launch new sports media verticals, and expand its roster of free and monetised games. It is also exploring sports betting in the U.S. and expansion into baseball, ice hockey and NFL verticals.
- Kry10
Led · Series A · Nov 2023
Kry10 Limited builds a cybersecurity platform that secures industrial connected devices by shifting security to the device layer rather than the software application layer. The leadership team includes CEO Boyd Multerer (an Xbox Live and Microsoft veteran), co-founder Jason Fox, and COO Lovina McMurchy. Folklore Ventures announced it led a NZ$6 million Pre‑Series A round in Kry10 alongside IQT and New Zealand investors including Movac and Nuance Connected Capital, among others. The company and its investors framed the financing as support for Kry10 as it scales its vision and product. The announcement emphasized the importance of delivering security at the device level for industrial connected devices and was posted by Folklore Ventures on LinkedIn.
- SimConverse
Led · Seed · Mar 2023
SimConverse (Dymaxion Technologies Pty Ltd) was founded in 2020 by Aiden Roberts and Will Pamment and is based in Sydney, Australia. The company offers a generative AI simulation platform that plays the role of patients, colleagues, or family members to train healthcare professionals in verbal communication. Its platform is used by over 50 institutions and the company operates across the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States. SimConverse says its product reduces the need for actors and lowers the cost of communication training while addressing communication-related medical errors, which it cites as around 70% of medical errors. The startup plans to use the A$1.5M seed funding to attract more users across the US, UK, and Australia and to further digitize healthcare education. CEO Aiden Roberts emphasized that communication is the primary determinant of the quality of care a patient receives.
- Strong Compute
Participated · Seed · May 2022
Strong Compute removes bottlenecks in ML training pipelines by applying low-level CPU/GPU optimizations and tooling that give a detailed view of how users' code interacts with hardware. The company says its optimizations can speed up training by 10x to 1,000x depending on model, pipeline and framework, and recently made an Nvidia reference implementation run 20x faster for customer LayerJot. Founded by Ben Sand and part of Y Combinator’s Winter ’22 batch, Strong Compute currently has six full-time engineers and plans to double headcount over the next few months. The team is hiring mathematicians and building tools to automate many current manual optimization tasks. Its immediate commercial focus remains on computer vision while pursuing development partners in self-driving, medical and aerial sectors. The company notes inbound interest from large customers that sometimes spend $50M or more on compute and describes the market as bimodal (customers spending either <$1M or $10M–$100M). It recently raised funding to support longer-term R&D rather than short sprint deliverables.
