Avokaado is an Estonian legaltech startup that automates document and contract creation and management. Its platform is used by over 20,000 users across the Baltics, Nordics, and the US, and customers include BITĖ Group, TV3 Group, Radisson, Tele2, Coolbet, and Starship. The company was founded by former attorney-at-law Mariana Hagström (CEO) and serial entrepreneur Jean Mauris, and is based in Tallinn. Avokaado is developing an AI-ready upgrade to its automation service that will turn static text into living documents that respond to changing conditions, trigger actions, and integrate with other systems. To fund that upgrade Avokaado has raised a €1.2 million funding round led by Tera Ventures. The company emphasizes data and business process automation as core principles for integrating legal operations into broader business processes. Avokaado is an all-in-one contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform that helps teams manage document workflow and automate contracts. Founded in 2016 by former attorney-at-law Mariana Hagström, the Tallinn-based startup serves law firms and corporations across the Baltics, Norway, Sweden, Poland and Belgium. The platform targets legal, HR and sales departments and has launched partnerships with TELE2 and Swedbank to build an SME user base in the Baltics. With the new funding, Avokaado plans to expand across Europe and into the UK. It also intends to launch a library of global open-source contract templates with a marketplace for legal service providers to upload and sell templates. The company has secured pre-seed funding to support these product and expansion initiatives.
