G Squared

205 N Michigan Ave., Suite 3770, Chicago, IL, 60601, United States

Overview

Founded in 2011, G Squared is aligned with a fundamental shift: venture-backed companies stay private longer. As a result, private companies need both primary capital to continue their growth trajectory and transitional capital to provide liquidity to early investors, current and former employees, and other sellers. Positioned at the crux of this liquidity access challenge, G Squared partners with portfolio companies throughout their lifecycle using a fundamentally different approach than traditional VCs. The company invests in companies that challenge the status quo and demonstrate a clear path to superior returns, partnering with world-class entrepreneurs tackling big problems. G Squared funds have invested in household names such as 23andMe, Coursera, Instacart, Lyft, Pinterest, and Spotify, as well as in the next generation of disruptors, including Asana, Blend, Bolt, Brex, Capsule, Flexport, Impossible Foods, Toast, and Turo.

  • Onyx Security

    Participated · Series B · Jul 2026

Onyx Security is developing an agent-native security and governance platform that continuously discovers enterprise AI agents, inspects every step of their reasoning, and intervenes when necessary to block, require human approval, or redirect agent actions. The unified control plane gives security teams visibility, posture management, and runtime protection, while helping governance teams satisfy regulatory requirements and enabling infrastructure teams to optimize cost, accuracy, and latency. Executives can also track AI adoption and performance metrics through the same dashboard. The system is powered by proprietary supervisory agents and in-house AI models purpose-built to understand and manage other agents in real time. Co-founded by cybersecurity veteran Maxim Bar Kogan and former Nvidia AI researcher Gil Elbaz, the company already serves multiple Fortune 500 customers and employs more than 70 people across Israel, the United States, and Canada. Headquartered in New York and Tel Aviv, Onyx plans to use its new capital to expand product and engineering teams, build additional AI models, and scale go-to-market efforts. The business has raised $40 million to date but has not publicly disclosed revenue or user numbers.

  • Replit

    Participated · Series D · Mar 2026

Replit, described as a “vibe-coding sensation,” offers an online platform designed to make software creation approachable for a broad audience. After nine years of development, the company made a controversial shift away from exclusively targeting professional developers and toward non-programmers, a move its CEO credits for its recent traction. In September, Replit reported it was on track for $150 million in annualized revenue. The company has since told Forbes it aims to reach $1 billion in annual recurring revenue by the end of the year. Replit’s valuation has soared from $3 billion in September to $9 billion just six months later. The fresh capital is expected to support further product expansion and community growth, although specific road-map details were not disclosed. Founder and CEO Amjad Masad notes that this momentum follows nearly a decade of steady iteration.

  • Nscale

    Participated · Series B · Sep 2025

Nscale builds and operates vertically integrated AI data centers, controlling everything from renewable energy sourcing and facility construction to the compute stack and orchestration layer. Backed by Nvidia, the company is developing ‘Stargate Norway,’ an installation targeting 100,000 Nvidia GPUs by the end of 2026 with OpenAI as an initial customer. In October it also partnered with Microsoft and Dell to deploy roughly 200,000 Nvidia GPUs across four data centers in Europe and the U.S. The firm positions itself as a low-cost, green alternative for AI compute, pledging to reuse waste heat and invest in local skills and infrastructure. Its latest funding round values the company at $14.6 billion, placing it among Europe’s few AI decacorns. Nscale plans to use the new capital to accelerate build-outs in Europe, North America and Asia while expanding its engineering and operations teams. The company has hinted at a possible IPO as early as this year to further bolster its capital base. High-profile board appointments—including Sheryl Sandberg, Susan Decker and Nick Clegg—underscore its growing prominence.
