  • Fluent

    Participated · Seed · Jul 2026

Fluent is developing a low‑risk, minimally invasive brain–computer interface inserted beneath the scalp but outside the skull and positioned over the motor cortex to record activity related to speech muscles. The device’s signals are decoded and converted into text to enable faster communication for people with impaired speech from neurological conditions. Fluent has filed provisional patents and progressed through the Melbourne Entrepreneurial Centre’s TRAM Accelerator, and previously secured Proof of Concept funding. The company has raised over $2 million in its current pre-seed financing round from a mix of Australian and international investors. Fluent plans to begin human clinical trials later this year in Melbourne. Additional plans and operating metrics were not disclosed in the articles.

  • Isaacus

    Led · Seed · Sep 2025

Founded earlier this year by legal AI specialist Umar Butler, Isaacus is building domain-specific artificial intelligence and data infrastructure for legal tech companies. Its flagship asset is the Blackstone Corpus, a living, multijurisdictional repository of legal knowledge that underpins advanced research and retrieval models. By delivering AI-powered legal research capabilities that surpass general-domain systems, the company aims to solve the unique pain points of emerging AI-first legal tech firms and forward-thinking law practices. Isaacus believes these tech-driven firms will become the law offices of the future and is tailoring its tools accordingly. The founding team also includes statistical expert Abdur-Rahman Butler and former IBM CTO Anthony Butler, providing deep technical and enterprise experience. Following a $700,000 pre-seed round, the company now has capital to accelerate R&D in sovereign Australian legal AI and expand collaborations across the sector. This investment positions Isaacus at the forefront of what it calls “one of the most disruptive legal AI missions of the decade.”

  • TrueState

    Participated · Equity · Jun 2024

TrueState offers a platform of AI application templates that integrate with customers' operational data to support use cases such as predicting machinery failure and recommending next-best-actions to prevent customer churn. Its templates and simple interface let non-technical teams build and configure AI use cases—like supply and demand forecasts and optimizing inventory and cashflow—without lengthy engineering projects. The company aims to enable businesses to deliver reliable, high-impact AI applications in a matter of days rather than the six to twelve months typical today. TrueState positions itself as an alternative to costly consultancy-led builds and a tangle of third-party AI tools that it says deliver more hype than impact. Founder Will Ashford has framed the company's mission around helping winners harness the right AI tools to deliver commercial value ahead of competitors. TrueState recently raised $1.5 million to accelerate this work.

  • CarbonHQ

    Led · Seed · Feb 2024

CarbonHQ is developing a digital platform to process on-ground data, automate issuance workflows and link carbon credits to their underlying data to improve transparency and efficiency. Since releasing a beta in mid-2023 the company has run trial projects with leading carbon project developers globally and won a UN carbon market Digital Innovation Challenge. CarbonHQ is targeting the $3 billion voluntary carbon market, which has grown roughly 30% annually since 2015, and aims to help buyers better assess credit quality. The startup says carbon project development is still using Excel, PDFs and email, creating lengthy (up to three-year) setup and issuance processes and exposure to low-quality or scam credits. Some studies cited in the reporting suggest as little as 12% of offsets sold result in real emissions reductions, underscoring the need for better tooling. CarbonHQ will use the $600,000 pre-Seed funds for market expansion and team growth. Founders Allen Fan and Eugene Datsky cofounded the company in 2022; Fan has experience in carbon project development and Datsky previously led engineering teams at Canva and other companies.

  • Relevance AI

    Participated · Series A · Dec 2023

Relevance AI builds an AI agent “operating system” that helps companies create, train and deploy teams of AI agents that integrate with existing tech stacks. The platform is tool- and model-agnostic and aims to let agents learn niche workflows and collaborate like human employees. The company reports 40,000 AI agents registered on its platform and counts Qualified, Activision, and Safety Culture among customers. Relevance recently launched Workforce, a no-code multi-agent system for non-technical users, and Invent, a prompt-based agent creation tool. It plans to use new funding to further enhance product capabilities and to expand customer support in its primary markets of Australia and the U.S. The startup has grown headcount from 19 employees in 2023 to 80 across San Francisco and Sydney. Relevance AI, founded in 2020, operates a platform to build and deploy AI apps and custom agents to automate repetitive reasoning tasks. Its two primary products are AI Tools, which plug into existing workflows to automate tasks, and AI Agents, which complete entire workflows across functions like marketing, sales, and research. The company is on a mission to enable teams to be limited only by their ideas, not their size. In December 2023 Relevance AI raised $15.0M in a Series A led by King River Capital with participation from Peak XV's Surge, Galileo Ventures and Insight Partners. Proceeds will be used to scale the team globally and expand into San Francisco in 2024. The company is listed as OnSearch Pty Ltd and is categorized in workflow automation software. Founded in 2020 by Jacky Koh and Daniel Vassilev, Relevance AI builds a vector platform that enables developers and data scientists to represent and analyze unstructured data (text, image, audio) via high-dimensional numerical vectors. The platform helps reveal semantics and insights from unstructured data with minimal labeling or training, making vector capabilities more accessible and affordable for businesses of any size. Relevance AI serves more than 3 million end users and handles over 100 million weekly requests across sectors including SaaS, e-commerce, education, and gaming. The company is based in Sidney, Australia. It plans to use new funding to expand its global customer base and double its headcount. Relevance AI recently raised $3M in funding led by Insight Partners, with participation from Galileo Ventures and Archangel Ventures.
