Sindhuja Microcredit operates as an NBFC-MFI focused on providing joint liability group (JLG) loans and individual lending products to self-employed women entrepreneurs, traders, shopkeepers, and farmers in rural and semi-urban areas. Founded by Abhisheka Kumar and Malkit Singh Didyala, the firm says it has served more than 5 lakh borrowers across 12 states over the last eight years. It currently operates 366 branches and manages assets worth over Rs 1,100 crore. Sindhuja emphasizes lending to borrowers in rural and remote regions and targets underserved communities including women entrepreneurs and MSMEs. The company has a multi-stage funding history, having raised Series A from Carpediem Capital, a Series B during the COVID-19 period, a pre-Series C in 2023 led by Abler Nordic, and a Series C in 2024 led by Huruma Fund (GAWA Capital) with participation from Oikocredit. With the recent pre-Series D proceeds, Sindhuja plans to strengthen its capital base and expand its lending operations.

Pahal provides joint and individual microloans plus health and life insurance to low-income families, with lending intended for enterprise, housing upgrades, agriculture, livestock, education, consumption and vehicles. The institution focuses on financing smallholder farmers and producer organizations and aims to deliver qualitative improvements in clients' living standards and social status. As of 2022 Pahal operated 210 branches, served about 350,000 customers (nearly all women) and had total assets of INR 10 billion (USD 130 million). Established in 2011, the firm also counts investors such as Base of Pyramid Asia and Dia Vikas Capital. Pahal plans to roll out an agriculture-specific loan product and build an environmental performance monitoring system to track impact and performance.

Founded in 2015 and based in Chennai, WayCool operates a full-stack agritech platform that sources, distributes and processes food products while connecting more than 85,000 farmers through its engagement platform Outgrow. It sells fresh produce, staples and dairy under consumer brands including Madhuram, KitchenJi, L’exotique and Freshey’s. The company has raised significant funding prior to the rights issue—about $183 million from investors such as Lightrock, IFC, FMO and 57 Stars—and recently secured venture debt of Rs 110 crore. WayCool's operations span sourcing, distribution and food processing aimed at improving agricultural supply chains between farmers and institutional buyers. In recent months the company has taken steps toward profitability, including workforce reductions of over 200 employees in July 2024, and has experienced several senior leadership departures.
