Epitomee Medical develops the Epitomee Capsule, an orally taken, shape-shifting scaffold that mechanically stimulates the stomach to induce early fullness and prolong gastric emptying. The capsule is taken twice daily and is intended to reduce daily caloric intake and drive weight loss. An initial clinical study equivalent to a Phase 2A trial showed weight loss, improved glycemic control, and ameliorated blood pressure with no safety concerns within 12 weeks. The company is advancing a Phase 2B study designed to evaluate the technology in overweight, obese, and prediabetic patients over a 24-week trial period. Led by CEO Dr. Dan Hashimshony and co-founder/chairman Dr. Shimon Eckhouse, the company intends to use new funds to advance its clinical program and move its solutions closer to market.
