Privacy Dynamics offers a SaaS de-identification app that lets developers rapidly anonymize data with a single click and can process thousands of records per second. The tool analyzes re-identification risk at the cell level rather than column-wise, which the company says reduces data distortion by 90% versus industry standards. Its precision and speed are intended to enable use cases such as on-demand machine learning training data, business intelligence dashboards, and safe sharing with external partners. The product is plug-and-play and supports Snowflake, BigQuery, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Redshift, and the company says its treatments satisfy HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA requirements. Founded in mid-2019 by Graham Thompson, a former Microsoft engineer, the Seattle-based startup built the product for engineers frustrated by privacy-policy friction. Privacy Dynamics announced a $4 million seed raise to further develop the product and expand its team from 13 employees, and it has now raised $5.7 million in total.
