Overview
Giosis, the company behind Qoo10, operates an e-marketplace offering sellers customisable sales strategies and buyers an extensive product portfolio. It is a joint venture established between eBay Inc. and Gmarket Inc. founder, Mr Ku Young Bae, in April 2010. Today, Giosis provides seven localised marketplaces, Qoo10, in five countries – China, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. It partners esteemed enterprises such as Mecox Lane and Yahoo to enable e-commerce of the best deals in almost every country. Qoo10’s five markets transacted SGD278 million in 2012, almost doubling 2011's SGD150 million. In Singapore, its daily transactions are about 30,000, translating into monthly sales volume of SDG15 million and annual sales volume of SGD90 million in 2012. As of January 2013, 960,000 Qoo10 mobile apps have been downloaded across the five Qoo10 e-marketplaces. Singapore contributed some 580,000 downloads. About 20 per cent of the overall sales come from mobile sales, and this number is expected to rise to 30 per cent within 2013. As of March 2013, there are about 50,000 registered sellers on Qoo10 Singapore. About 150 sellers transact at least SGD10,000 every month. There are about 900,000 registered users on Qoo10 Singapore. More than 1,000 new users are registered on Qoo10 Singapore every day since January 2012.

B5M operates an independent, unbiased shopping search and data-mining platform across multiple vertical categories, aggregating over 300 million products, product comments and merchant reviews, group-buy deals, and social shopping content. The company provides search and recommendation engines to e-commerce sites, runs its own advertisement network, and distributes content via website, plugin, PC and mobile applications. B5M reports three million unique visitors and 50 million page views per day, and sends about 30 million Chinese consumers monthly to roughly 6,000 e-commerce sites. It has partnerships with major Chinese sites including Sohu, Kaixin, JingDong, Amazon China and Dangdang. With the new funding the company aims to accelerate growth in China’s e-commerce market and become a premier household brand for online shopping search. B5M is a next-generation social shopping search engine that combines product and shopping data with community features to deliver comprehensive, accurate and unbiased search results for Chinese consumers. The company launched a beta site and has indexed over 30 million business-to-consumer products, product reviews, and shopping-related web articles, and aggregates listings from over 200 B2C websites and 100 group-buying sites. B5M also provides e-commerce search and recommendation engines to e-commerce sites and syndicates its search product to third-party websites for traffic monetization. The company was founded by Yeogirl Yun, a serial entrepreneur behind mySimon.com, Wisenut.com, and Become.com. B5M intends to use new capital to continue website development, marketing, and ongoing innovation to improve user experience and conversion.
