Monford Ag Systems is an agricultural technology company based in Wicklow/Mayo, Ireland, developing the Grassometer. The Grassometer is a device designed to measure and record agricultural data, with measurements linked to a Data Network for sharing, benchmarking and improving efficiency and profitability. The device was on trial with farmers on 20 farms across Ireland, New Zealand, America and the UK. The company raised €1m in funding and intends to use the proceeds to bring the Grassometer to market by Q4 2013. Monford’s technology is based on R&D undertaken at Trinity College Dublin. The company has a wholly-owned subsidiary in the UK and is led by CEO Steven Lock and lead designer Jerrold C Manock.
