  • DexMat

    Participated · Seed · Jan 2026

DexMat builds Galvorn, a proprietary conductive material that combines metal-like electrical conductivity with the low weight and flexibility of advanced fibers, enabling new system designs across aerospace, defense, automotive, energy, and consumer technology sectors. The company’s material aims to mitigate traditional trade-offs between conductivity, weight, and mechanical strength, opening opportunities for lighter wiring, EMI shielding, and structural components. Current customers from multiple industries are already evaluating the product, and the commercial pipeline is reportedly adding new prospects each month. With fresh seed capital, DexMat plans to scale from lab production to pilot-scale manufacturing in order to meet near-term demand. Proceeds will also fund the expansion of technical and commercial teams to accelerate customer onboarding and product development. The leadership team includes CEO Bryan Guido Hassin, CTO Dmitri Tsentalovich, and CSO Matteo Pasquali. To date, DexMat has secured over $5 million in funding, providing early financial momentum for its scale-up goals.

  • AZUL Energy

    Participated · Series A · Jan 2024

AZUL Energy is a Tohoku University spinout founded in July 2019 that develops a proprietary, rare-metal-free high-performance catalyst called the AZUL catalyst. The catalyst targets oxygen reduction reactions in fuel cells and metal–air batteries and can be manufactured using conventional production processes. The company plans to commercialize the catalyst by producing electrode sheets incorporating AZUL catalyst and expanding applications to metal–air batteries, fuel cells, and water electrolysis systems. AZUL Energy is also pursuing device-level opportunities including lightweight, high-capacity batteries for wearables, IoT, and drones. The company aims to scale manufacturing and pursue overseas business development while continuing to improve catalyst performance. To date it has raised capital to support these commercialization and scale-up efforts. AZUL Energy develops the AZUL catalyst, a rare‑metal‑free high‑performance catalyst for oxygen reduction and water electrolysis used in fuel cells, metal‑air batteries, and green hydrogen production. The company says its catalyst matches rare‑metal performance while enabling production via conventional manufacturing processes. AZUL Energy aims to commercialize the catalyst by mass‑producing electrode sheets and supplying low‑cost, high‑performance catalysts at scale. Planned priorities include expanding domestic and overseas customer adoption, improving catalyst performance, and developing new application areas. Financially, the company completed a Series A first close of ¥335M, bringing cumulative funding to ¥500M; its stated capital is ¥258M. AZUL Energy was founded in July 2019 and operates from Sendai with a Tokyo office.
