Leecell commercializes next-generation flexible photovoltaic films developed from research at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology. Its films are lightweight, transparent, work in low-light and indoor environments, and can be applied to curved surfaces, enabling uses across BIPV, mobility integration, agrivoltaics, and low-light installations. The technology is compatible with roll-to-roll manufacturing, which the company says will enable high-volume production and competitive pricing. Leecell plans to refine its mass-production processes as it scales following its Series A. Financially, the company raised KRW 4.5 billion (about $3.2 million) in Series A financing and received KRW 1.8 billion in government support via the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Unicorn Project. Going forward, Leecell aims to enter multiple market segments and expand commercialization of its solar film products.
