  • TargED Biopharmaceuticals

    Participated · Series A · Dec 2025

TargED Biopharmaceuticals B.V., founded in 2020 as a spin-out from University Medical Center Utrecht, is focused on TGD001, an antibody-enzyme fusion protein that binds von Willebrand factor (VWF) and degrades both VWF and fibrin to dissolve clots. The therapy has completed a Phase 1 first-in-human study that showed a favorable safety profile with no spontaneous bleeding events and potent thrombolytic activity. With its latest funding, the company will initiate two Phase 1/2 clinical studies targeting acute ischemic stroke and thrombotic microangiopathies, expanding trial sites across Europe and the U.S. and aiming for first data in 2026. Unlike approved thrombolytics that target a single pathway, TGD001 leverages the ubiquitous presence of VWF to enable broad clot dissolution. TargED has raised over €60 million in Series A financing to date and also received a blended-finance grant from the European Innovation Council Accelerator in 2025. The fresh capital strengthens its balance sheet and accelerates clinical development toward demonstrating proof-of-concept in multiple life-threatening indications.

  • Step Pharma

    Participated · Series C · Oct 2025

Founded in 2014, Step Pharma is pioneering inhibition of cytidine triphosphate synthetase-1 (CTPS1) to create highly selective cancer therapies that spare healthy tissue. Its lead compound, dencatistat, is in a phase 1a dose-escalation study for solid tumours and is also being tested in a phase 1/2 trial for relapsed or refractory T- and B-cell lymphoma, an indication for which it holds FDA orphan-drug designation. A third clinical programme is underway in essential thrombocythaemia, and phase 1b expansion cohorts for CTPS2-null ovarian and endometrial cancers are slated to begin enrolling in 2026, with a lung-cancer cohort planned. CTPS2 loss occurs in roughly 15-20 % of these gynaecological tumours, creating a synthetic-lethal dependency on CTPS1 that dencatistat is designed to exploit. Proceeds from recent financing will also fund drug manufacture and pivotal toxicology ahead of phase 2 studies. Headquartered in Saint-Genis-Pouilly, France, the company is backed by investors such as Kurma Partners, V-Bio Ventures, Bpifrance, Pontifax, Hadean Ventures, Sunstone Life Science Ventures and others, and it closed a €38 million Series C round in October 2025.

  • ARTHEx Biotech

    Participated · Series B · Sep 2025

ARTHEx Biotech is a clinical-stage company specializing in targeted RNA medicines that precisely modulate gene expression across skeletal muscle, heart and brain tissues. Its lead program, ATX-01, is an oleic-acid-conjugated anti-miR oligonucleotide designed to inhibit microRNA-23b and restore MBNL protein function in myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1); the drug is currently being evaluated in the randomized, placebo-controlled Phase I/IIa ArthemiR™ study. ATX-01 has secured Orphan Drug Designation in both the United States and Europe, as well as Rare Pediatric Disease Designation from the FDA. Preclinical data show the therapy increases MBNL production, reduces toxic DMPK mRNA and corrects spliceopathy in animal and cell models. Beyond DM1, ARTHEx is using its delivery platform to build a pipeline for additional muscular, CNS, cardiac and pulmonary diseases with high unmet need. The company’s headquarters are in Valencia, Spain, and it recently upsized its Series B financing to support preparation for a registrational study of ATX-01 and to broaden its pipeline. Including this round, the company has attracted backing from a consortium of European and U.S. life-science investors.

  • Actithera

    Led · Series A · Jul 2025

Actithera applies medicinal chemistry and radiochemistry to develop next-generation radioligand therapies (RLTs) using a proprietary three-pillar discovery platform. The platform combines rational drug design, first-in-class covalent targeting strategies, and two additional proprietary approaches to optimize tumor residence time while ensuring rapid systemic clearance. Its work on fibroblast activation protein (FAP) produced a FAP-directed RLT development candidate with an optimal pharmacokinetic profile and tumor specificity. The company plans to advance its lead FAP asset into clinical development across multiple indications and to expand its preclinical pipeline. Actithera was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway and Cambridge, Massachusetts.

  • SciRhom

    Led · Series A · Jul 2024

SciRhom is a Munich-based biopharmaceutical company developing proprietary iRhom2-targeting therapies, primarily therapeutic antibodies. Its lead program, SR-878, has generated positive preclinical data in vitro and in established animal models of rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease and has been advanced to a Phase 1‑ready stage. The company announced a CTA approval on June 12, 2024, enabling a first clinical study in Austria in the second half of 2024 to assess safety in healthy volunteers and obtain initial evidence of clinical activity. SciRhom intends to use the newly raised funds to accelerate and broaden the impact of its therapeutic strategy in autoimmune disorders. The Series A financing of EUR 63M will support progressing SR-878 into and through clinical development. The leadership team includes Dr. Jan Poth (CEO), Dr. Jens Ruhe (Managing Director and COO) and Dr. Matthias Schneider (CSO).
