Cashboard operates an online platform that identifies and combines products from multiple providers into a single account, positioning itself as a curated marketplace for retail investment. Unlike typical robo-advisors that focus on passive ETFs, Cashboard offers access to a broader spectrum of asset classes, including call money, stocks, and crowd lending, and invests on users' behalf. Users set savings goals and risk levels; the service suggests a selection of asset classes and providers and manages portfolio diversification. The company charges a 10% performance fee on net profits each year. Cashboard says it will use its Series A proceeds to grow its team and internationalize the service. CEO and co-founder Robert Henker frames the product as making curated, multi-provider investment options understandable and accessible for retail investors. CASHBOARD operates a digital investment platform that lets private and institutional investors open individual accounts and depots online and invest from €100. The service uses fully automated algorithms for portfolio management, risk mitigation and tax optimisation. Investors can allocate to traditional assets (funds, shares, real estate, overnight deposits) and innovative assets (P2P lending, crowdfunding and social trading). The platform is free to users and operates on a success-oriented, profit-sharing basis. CASHBOARD partners with the European Bank for Financial Services (ebase) for financial security while a comdirect subsidiary manages invested funds. Account opening is completed online via video verification and electronic signatures. The company had won €4 million in media time at the SevenVentures Pitch Day and planned a ProSiebenSat.1 ad campaign for Autumn 2015. CASHBOARD recently raised new funding to support further growth.
- Klara
Participated · Equity · Feb 2015
Klara is a New York-based healthcare startup offering a patient engagement platform for doctors' offices and clinical practices. Its product centers patient communications in the user interface, emphasizing text-messaging interactions delivered via a mobile web portal where patients receive a link by text. The service integrates with EHRs and practice management systems and maintains communication history. Klara focuses on independent practices and practice groups, beginning with dermatologists, though its services work with any medical practice. The company says it is moving toward greater automation of medical processes using natural language processing technologies. Financially, Klara announced $15 million in new financing, and partners from the investing firms will join its board. Klara is a New York-based healthcare communication company co-founded by Simon Bolz and Dr. Simon Lorenz in 2013. It provides a central messaging platform for healthcare that integrates with a practice’s website and phone system to securely connect providers, medical professionals, and patients. Klara has received an investment from Stage 2 Capital; the amount was not disclosed. The company intends to use the funds to bring its growth trajectory to the next level. Last summer it raised a Series A led by FirstMark Capital and Project A Ventures, joined by Flatiron Health founders Zac Weinberg and Nat Turner, Clover Health founder Vivek Garipalli, and InVision founder Clark Valberg. Stage 2 Capital is a fund specializing in sales, marketing, and customer success. Klara is a HIPAA-compliant messaging platform that centralizes communication for medical practices, enabling internal team messaging and direct patient texts. The service lets all departments — doctors, physician assistants, nurses, payments and scheduling — communicate via text about diagnosis and treatment and allows staff to message patients about scheduling and care. Klara says it saves up to two hours of staff time per practice per day and that the average practice misses around 34% of calls, which generate time-consuming callbacks. Doctors quoted estimate phone calls cost $15–$20 each and that prescription renewal calls alone cost about $10,000 per year. Klara charges on a per-month basis by practice size but has not finalized pricing. The company plans to add complementary services such as payments, scheduling, insurance carriers and pharmacies to become the fabric of the healthcare system, and it currently hosts thousands of practices and hundreds of thousands of patients. Klara builds a HIPAA-compliant, cloud-based web and mobile messaging platform that centralizes all patient-related communication for medical teams. The platform is B2B2C and is used by hundreds of health systems across the US, including solo-provider practices, modern pharmacy companies, large medical groups and enterprise-level hospitals. Klara was founded in 2013 by Simon Bolz and Dr. Simon Lorenz and is New York–based with additional offices in Berlin. The company intends to use new funding to continue developing the platform and to expand operations. Its product focus is on secure, centralized communication for medical teams and patients. The company’s stated plans emphasize product development and operational growth. Klara is an eHealth platform that enables doctors to carry patient relationships into digital communication channels and provide online treatment. The company focuses on dermatology, citing skin problems as well-suited for online treatment. Founded in 2013 by Simon Bolz and Dr. Simon Lorenz in Berlin, Klara entered German-speaking markets in 2014 and expanded to the US the following summer. It now works with US doctors in over 30 states. Klara raised $2.5M to accelerate US expansion and to improve its platform. Investors in the round included Creathor Venture, Partech, Stephan Schambach, Heilemann Ventures and existing backer Atlantic Labs.
