Smarter Health develops AI-based technology that enables secure, consented data exchanges between healthcare providers, insurers and patients, integrating with rather than replacing legacy systems. Its platform offers a roster of services for payors and insurers, including a patient concierge that recommends specialists, schedules appointments, creates demographic profiles, automates claims assessments, updates insurers about cases, and speeds bill and claims adjudication. For healthcare organizations and providers it provides specialist recommendations, patient registration tools, load-levelling to shorten waiting times, and digitized hospital admissions and claim submissions. The company serves three main customer categories: doctors, hospitals, and insurers and corporate payors such as AIA, Allianz and Prudential, which make up the bulk of its business. Smarter Health currently operates in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia and plans to enter new countries in Southeast Asia with the new funding. The startup raised a $5.15M SGD (about $3.8M USD) Series A led by East Ventures to fund product development and regional expansion, bringing total funding to $8M SGD.
