HK Tech 300 is a large-scale flagship innovation and entrepreneurship programme organised by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) for aspiring entrepreneurs among CityU students, alumni, research staff and others* to launch start-ups and ignite their entrepreneurship journey. The programme aims to create 300 start-ups in three years, providing educational and growth opportunities for CityU students, and translating CityU research results and intellectual properties into practical applications.

Wada Bento builds and deploys a patented hot-chain bento machine that heats and dispenses hot meal boxes in 17 seconds with touch-free pickup. The company offers its hardware, hot-chain logistics and IoT backend as a HaaS solution, allowing restaurant partners to focus on meal preparation while Wada Bento manages operations. Its machines integrate AI and non-personal recognition for purchase analytics, 5G for remote monitoring and preventive maintenance, and are designed for low energy consumption; its lunch boxes are made from biodegradable bagasse. Wada Bento says its technology and HaaS have been verified by over 250,000 bentos sold and deployed by Hong Kong’s top restaurant chains; named HaaS partners include Café de Coral, Cafe de Beans and Lazy Pot. The company has secured MTR machine certification, is entering MTR stations, has landed in Circle K in Vietnam, opened a branch in Hengqin (Zhuhai), and expects a Japanese bento chain to implement its technology in the fourth quarter. Wada Bento intends to continue expanding across Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area and international markets.
