- SuperBin
Participated · Series B · Aug 2020
Superbin operates Nephron, an AI-powered waste-recovery robot and service that analyzes, sorts and collects recyclable materials while providing cash rewards to users. Since 2018 the company has deployed about 160 Nephron units across roughly 40 municipalities and corporate customers. Following a ₩20 billion Series B that pushed its valuation past ₩100 billion, Superbin is expanding from collection into processing recycled plastics into industrial materials (r‑flake). The company plans to accelerate nationwide deployment with a 2nd‑generation Nephron market launch advanced to year-end and to upgrade its circular-resource logistics. It will build a smart factory to process selected plastic waste, begin pilot operations by year-end, and move to full-scale production in the second half of next year, with r‑flake supplied to petrochemical firms. Strategic partnerships with industrial investors are intended to secure downstream demand and support production of long fibers and apparel applications from recycled PET.
