theAudience helps celebrities navigate and monetize social media by managing their accounts and producing optimized posts. The company developed software to track post success and fan engagement, measure time-on-post, and identify optimal posting times, and it uses an "affinity cluster" approach to program content. It manages accounts for roughly 300 celebrities who collectively reach over 800 million fans and charges a monthly fee starting at around $5,000. theAudience works directly with record labels, movie marketers and promoters and partnered with the Obama campaign to create networked, shareable content. Led by acting CEO Oliver Luckett and formed in partnership by Sean Parker and Ari Emanuel, the company plans to expand its network, court sponsors and build out staff. It previously raised significant seed financing from William Morris Endeavor and has closed a $20 million Series A to support growth.
