Laurantis Pharma is a privately held, clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Turku, Finland, led by CEO Riku Rautsola. Its lead program is Lymfactin, which uses an adenoviral vector to deliver vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF-C) during lymph node transplantation to avoid breast cancer-associated lymphedema. The company plans to use the recent capital to fund the first human trial of Lymfactin. Laurantis also develops proprietary, patent-protected formulations and applications of cis-urocanic acid as a locally acting anti-inflammatory and anti-proliferative agent for indications including atopic dermatitis, dry eye, interstitial cystitis and bladder cancer. It completed a €5.64m (approximately US$7.02m) funding round. Backers in the financing include Broadview Ventures, Inveni Capital, Aloitusrahasto Vera, Helsinki University Funds and Veritas.
