Symphera develops surgical systems for laparoscopic procedures that automate tool-switching, enabling surgeons to switch between instruments while maintaining full focus. The technology is intended to simplify surgical workflows, reduce operating time and improve post-operative outcomes for patients. The company plans to use its Seed proceeds to advance product development, run initial pre-clinical tests and begin preparation for the certification process. Symphera was founded in 2023 and is based in Munich, Germany. It was incubated at TU Munich and UnternehmerTUM and originated from the University Hospital in Basel. Co-founders are Conrad Heid, Nico Weigand, Philipp Preißler and Thomas Wegele.
