Hive Technologies, founded in 2020 and formerly known as Gemini, sits at the intersection of high-range EVs, IoT, modular solar charging and energy storage to accelerate mass-market adoption of electric vehicles. Its core product is a proprietary financing model that lowers the average income required to secure EV financing by roughly 40 %, treating the vehicle as the “razor” and ongoing renewable energy services as the “razor blades.” By combining affordable vehicle access with solar-powered, DC fast-charging mobility hubs, Hive claims it can cut an EV’s ROICO2 (Return on Invested CO₂) to one year versus today’s seven-year average. The company plans to use its new capital to place 1,000 high-mileage drivers on a path to EV ownership and to deploy 50 solar charging hubs expected to eliminate 12,000 t of CO₂ and save 1.2 million gallons of fuel annually. Longer term, Hive intends to partner with automakers, auto-finance firms and site hosts to scale its model and tap surplus renewable energy. Backed by investors aligned with ESG goals, the company is positioning itself for significant growth in 2022 and beyond.
