- Composo
Participated · Seed · Feb 2025
Composo is a London-based startup that offers both a no-code product and an API to evaluate and monitor LLM-powered enterprise applications. Its core technology combines a reward model trained on preferred outputs with app-specific criteria to score model outputs; the company recently launched a public API for Composo Align. The dual no-code/API approach is intended to let developers, domain experts and executives evaluate AI apps for inconsistencies, quality and accuracy. Composo cites customers including Accenture, Palantir and McKinsey and positions itself as industry-agnostic while aiming for resonance in compliance, legal, healthcare and security use cases. The company raised $2 million in pre-seed funding and says its approach is not particularly capital intensive, with no expectation of seeking very large raises in the near term. With the new capital it plans to expand its engineering team, acquire more clients and bolster R&D. Composo also emphasizes its training data — a large dataset of expert evaluations — and R&D as part of its competitive moat and first-mover advantage.
- DBtune
Participated · Seed · Aug 2023
DBtune offers an AI-powered database tuning service that can be deployed in the cloud or on premises. It automatically tunes database configuration parameters to influence data flow and the interaction between underlying hardware components. The tuning optimizes how RAM, CPU, and disk work together to improve efficiency. These optimizations help customers reduce computing resource requirements, save on cloud credits, and lower CO2 impact to support ESG goals. The company is led by Founder & CEO Dr. Luigi Nardi and is a spin-off from Stanford University and Lund University. DBtune raised €2.4M in seed funding, providing capital to advance its offering.
