Kasa is developing a blockchain-based proptech platform that enables retail users to buy and sell small, fractional stakes in commercial real estate through digitalized asset-backed securities (ABS). The platform will rely on banks and real-estate trust companies to digitalize ABS so those securities can be traded in small amounts on Kasa’s marketplace. Kasa completed a 70억원 Series A, bringing its cumulative funding past 100억원 after an earlier 33억원 seed round from prominent early-stage VCs. The company plans to use the new capital to further strengthen its blockchain solution and accelerate hiring across blockchain development, backend, frontend, app development, marketing and HR. Participants in the Series A included Woomi Construction, KEB Hana Bank, Shinhan Financial Investment, AF Investment and KCLAVIS among domestic and international institutional investors. CEO Ye Chang-wan said Kasa will cooperate with strategic investors to become a leading Asian proptech and focus on launching the service so anyone can safely and easily make indirect investments in commercial real estate.
