Transplant Biomedicals is a Barcelona-based company that develops an innovative medical device to store and transport organs, focusing on livers and kidneys. The company was founded by Dr Carmen Peralta and Ignasi Heras as a spin-off of IDIBAPS-Hospital Clinic and is located in the Barcelona Activa Parc Tecnològic Barcelona Nord. Its core product aims to improve the quality and viability of kidney and liver transplants through better preservation and transport. Founded in 2009 by Rafael Villalón and Antoni and Alex Zanuy, Didáctica Digital began as a platform producing and commercializing online educational material for primary schools and more than 200 schools. The company has reoriented toward school reinforcement, focusing on English, reading-comprehension and mathematics. Its core offering is a subscription-based platform (plans range from €19 to €120) and it plans to launch a new methodology called Supertics this year. Didáctica is also developing mobile applications for iOS and Android and will increase marketing efforts. The company expects to close the year with approximately €450,000 in revenue, up from €220,000 the prior year. In January it plans to enter Latin American markets and sell its product online.

Its flagship product, Fast Chef Elite (also referenced as Fast Chef Elife), is an automatic frying device that fries without producing smoke or odours and does not require specialist labour. The device is small and free-standing, allowing installation in different locations within HORECA establishments including bar or café counters, hotel offices, inside or outside kitchens, and in mobile businesses and sales outlets. Users only need an electrical power point to operate the device. The company plans to use the €1.01m raised to expand adoption of Fast Chef Elite nationally and abroad and to develop new solutions. The round was led by Kereon Partners with participation from Caixa Capital Risc and other private investors.
