Dance Church began in 2010 as a small in-person gathering in Seattle and evolved into an online-first community during the pandemic. Its core product is joyful, inclusive movement classes described as one part performance, one part fitness and one part dance party. The company built a community-driven tech product after members began playing instruction videos together and dancing on Zoom. Growth metrics cited include roughly 40,000 people who started following its dance videos at launch and nearly 150,000 people tuning in over the last year. Dance Church emphasizes inclusivity, serving a broad age range (including people in their 90s), people with disabilities, and demand for kids' classes. Future plans focus on building out a dedicated tech platform, producing more content, and driving sign-ups and engagement.
