  • Moved

    Participated · Seed · Aug 2018

Moved provides consumers with a personal, human assistant who coordinates all aspects of a residential move via a marketplace that sources movers and related service providers. Users complete a questionnaire about their move and Moved obtains multiple quotes, schedules vendors, and helps with tasks like packing supplies, donations, storage, address updates, and finding painters. The service is available via desktop web and mobile app and is offered free to consumers, with vendors charged a fee at the time of booking. Moved vets its suppliers and removes those who receive poor customer feedback. The company has a partnership with Affirm to let customers finance and pay moving costs monthly. Founder Adam Pittenger built the company based on extensive personal moving experience; the service operates throughout the United States.

  • GoldenKey

    Participated · Equity · Feb 2017

GoldenKey (formerly SoloPro) offers a flat-fee, à la carte marketplace for real estate services where consumers pick prepaid bundles or individual services instead of paying a traditional percentage commission. The platform also gives buyers and sellers a 3% rebate when they complete a transaction with one of GoldenKey’s partner agents (with some state restrictions such as Oregon). The company shifted from an open marketplace to set pricing and an Uber-like request model where the first local agent to accept a timed request gets the job. GoldenKey found consumers prefer prepaid plans and paying at close, and it emphasizes giving agents flexibility on when to work and get paid. The startup works with roughly 1,900 agents across 47 states and has agent coverage in about 53% of U.S. ZIP codes. Management plans to use the new funding to expand nationwide and build out its user tools and product suite.
