Bluetector is a Lucerne-based cleantech startup that has developed an IP-protected treatment system for heavily polluted wastewater. Its core product — the BlueBoxes — are pre-ordered containers capable of cleaning various types of highly polluted wastewaters and can deliver up to 75% savings in water treatment costs for customers across industries. The company was founded in 2012 by David Din, a serial entrepreneur who previously built and ran a VC-backed wastewater treatment company. Bluetector has secured first clients including TOI TOI & DIXI and has contracted revenues of almost CHF 1 million over the next years. With CHF 1.76 million in funding, the company will commence production of its BlueBoxes to complete pre-ordered containers and begin deployments in 2015. Bluetector has received the CTI Start Up Label and ranked in national and industry startup lists, and is pursuing follow-on strategic institutional investors while using investiere’s network to access an emerging market.
