Founded in early 2024 in Amstetten (Lower Austria), 2ndCycle is developing a fully automated industrial plant that can upcycle and recycle used photovoltaic modules. While the full system is still under development, the company is already monetising parts of its technology by offering large-scale, automated testing services for PV panels at cost-efficient price points. These services have attracted notable customers such as the utility EVN, for whom 2ndCycle recently inspected the flood-damaged Dürnrohr solar park. Management reports that product development is proceeding according to plan and that initial revenues are already being booked. The fresh capital from the latest financing will be directed toward further development and expansion of the existing reuse and recycling facility in Amstetten. By combining recycling, reuse, and quality-testing capabilities, 2ndCycle aims to position itself as a technology leader in the rapidly growing secondary market for solar modules.
