ClearDekho sells affordable eyewear and operates an online marketplace alongside a network of physical stores. The company targets low‑income mass‑market consumers across Tier II, III and IV Indian cities and towns. It follows an asset‑light omnichannel O2O model and has opened over 100 stores across 40 Indian cities since its 2017 founding. Management reported the business grew by almost 60% from FY21 to FY22. The company plans to use new funding to support operations and its expansion strategy in Bharat. ClearDekho emphasizes standardising a largely unorganised optical retail market and scaling organised penetration. ClearDekho operates an affordable eyewear retail brand aimed at improving accessibility of high-quality eyeglasses for low-income, mass-market consumers across Tier II/III/IV towns in India. Founded in 2017 by Shivi Singh and Saurabh Dayal, the company combines retail stores and private-label products to serve underserved smaller cities. It plans aggressive physical expansion, targeting 200 stores across Tier II/III/IV towns and presence in 100+ cities within 12 months, with a longer-term ambition to add another 1,000 retail stores via collaborations over the next three years. The company will use funding to expand stores (40%), drive marketing and on-ground customer acquisition (30%), and strengthen backend operations including automation of fittings and quality checks, hiring, training, inventory, and private-label development (20%). The article does not disclose revenue or user metrics. Management says the funding will strengthen backend operations and scale the customer experience as it standardises a fragmented optical market. ClearDekho (Cleardekho Eyewear Pvt. Ltd), founded in 2016, operates an online and retail marketplace offering budget eyewear including prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, reading glasses and branded contact lenses. The company uses an asset-light franchise model and has opened 25 stores across Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan within six months of operations. It claims to be serving more than 50,000 customers. ClearDekho raised Rs 2 crore (about $300,000) in a pre-Series A investment and will deploy the funds to boost marketing, strengthen back-end operations and hire talent. The startup plans to expand its product portfolio and launch private-label brands in the budget category. Leadership includes co-founders Shivi Singh and Saurabh Dayal, who have prior experience at VisionSpring, Paytm and other firms.
