Volusion provides software that lets anyone build a fully functioning e-commerce site, with control over design, product merchandising, SEO, social media, payments and processing. The company reports 40,000 customers who made more than $2.8 billion in sales last year and has processed $12 billion in sales to date. Its newest offering, Mozu, targets mid-market to enterprise customers and was built with an API-first architecture to ease customization and integration. Mozu will use a usage-based pricing model and provide mobile and web support. Volusion raised outside capital for the first time in its ten-year history to support marketing and expansion of Mozu. Management is using the financing to grow the product and prepare the company for a potential IPO in the next year or so.

The company was founded in 2008 and is led by CEO Randy Fagundo. MinuteKey’s machines are deployed in retail locations and the company says it will use new funding to expand its presence with retailers nationwide. The announcement reports a $10.6M funding round to support that expansion. Existing investor Matrix Partners participated in the round.

Drilling Info completed an acquisition of HPDI, LLC, a data service company that supplies data products and web-enabled, decision-support applications to energy industry users. Main Street Capital provided financing to support that acquisition. The financing included debt and an equity-warrant component tied to Drilling Info’s capital structure.
