Apart from providing capital, we mentor entrepreneurs, provide expertise support, and open our networks. Industry agnostic, MAIN invests in Seed and Series A rounds of startups that have operations in the Philippines. These start-ups are globally scalable, have high growth potential, address large markets, have strong competitive advantages, clear IP ownership, and entrepreneurial management. MAIN is committed to gender lens investing, and actively seeks to support female founded startups, launching an impact investment fund to catalyse more private capital into these founders. MAIN assesses investment opportunities against the following criteria: (a) Quality Founders and Team (b) Exciting Market Opportunity / Building a Solution to Identifiable Pain Point (c) Scalable / Growth Potential (d) Competitive Advantage / Defensibility (e) Evidence of Early Stage Income / Customer Sales Traction / Roadmap (f) Credible Ask / Use of Proceeds / Budget (g) Realistic, Aligned Exit Strategy As an investor in early stage companies, primary focus will be on the quality of your team and robustness of the product on offer. MAIN expects you to have developed a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), from which you have generated a reasonable amount of traction (product build, clients, revenues, or users) that gives confidence that product/market fit has been found.

ACE (Authentic Celebrity Experiences) is a personalised celebrity video and collaborative platform that connects fans directly with celebrities for exclusive content. Fans purchase short, personalised video messages—birthday songs, encouragement, or answers to questions—at a fee set by each talent. The website features over 160 international celebrities, including Singapore actors Kumar, Gurmit Singh and Patricia Mok; Malaysian talents Joanne Kam and Steve Yap; Filipino personalities Pia Wurtzbach and Ruffa Gutierrez; Indian figures Priyanka Roy and Romeer Sen; and members of the Selling Sunset cast. Founded in November 2019 by Dene Schonknecht and based in Singapore, the company monetises talent-driven short-form video interactions. ACE raised over S$550K in pre-seed funding and plans to use the proceeds to scale talent acquisition and grow its consumer base. The company also intends to expand across Southeast Asia and into international markets.

Edusuite offers a software platform that uses artificial intelligence to predict administrative needs and make recommendations to school administrators, such as forecasting demand for each subject to set section counts and hiring. The system is designed to improve school profitability by matching staffing to predicted demand. It meets global standards in data privacy and security. Launched commercially the year prior to the article, Edusuite already had seven schools in its client portfolio, including Ateneo High School and CIIT College. The company was founded by Niel Dagondon (CEO) and Calen Legaspi (CTO). After the funding described in the article, the company reached a Php 68 million valuation.
