Founded in 2014, Farmbot builds satellite-connected sensors and a software platform that lets farmers monitor tanks, troughs, dams, pumps and rainfall remotely. The company serves more than 12,000 customers across Australia, North America and other markets and reports management of about 10 million cattle and 15 million sheep. It operates as Ranchbot in the U.S. and is now headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. With the recent $22 million Series B, Farmbot plans a corporate reorganization to establish Ranchbot Technology Holdings Inc. as the global parent, hire additional staff, and continue improving its hardware and software. Leadership has indicated plans to evolve the product offering into broader agricultural and water management solutions for the farm sector.
- MEQ Probe
Participated · Equity · Oct 2018
MEQ Solutions offers an integrated technology suite—including MEQ Probe, MEQ Camera, MEQ Live and MEQ Insights—that uses proprietary imaging and advanced AI models to grade red meat from live animal to finished product. Its MEQ Camera is the first video-based system certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for beef grading, establishing the firm as a global benchmark for objective measurement. The company’s platform supplies processors, producers and brands with real-time data to optimise carcass outcomes, verify premium product claims, reduce waste and build consumer trust. MEQ Insights converts these measurements into commercial intelligence, enabling new value-sharing models throughout the red-meat value chain. With commercial deployments in Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and the United States, the Melbourne-based business is scaling rapidly. The recent A$23 million (US $15 million) Series A financing will accelerate team expansion, deepen partner collaborations and support further global roll-outs. In the US$1 trillion global red-meat market, MEQ Solutions positions itself as critical “truth infrastructure” for transparency, traceability and performance.
