Its mobile application refreshes every 10 minutes and offers minute-level forecasts over four-hour windows, leveraging radar, satellite imagery, weather stations, and smartphone barometers to minimise error. The company claims one-square-kilometre spatial resolution and has surpassed 1 million app installs. In addition to its consumer app, Rainbow Weather has launched APIs serving logistics, agriculture, aviation, navigation, drone operations, and outdoor activity platforms. The team also maintains weatherindex.ai, an open-source tool comparing short-term forecasts from major providers against real-time airport reports. With fresh capital, Rainbow Weather plans to extend its forecast horizon from 4 to 24 hours, add additional weather parameters, and deepen its push into B2B markets. The firm positions itself as a faster, more precise alternative to large incumbents such as The Weather Company, AccuWeather, and Apple Weather.
