Telexistence (TX) develops robots for retail and logistics and has progressed from R&D and small-scale proofs to commercial deployments. Led by CEO Jin Tomioka, the company has deployed hundreds of its own robots in dynamic environments outside factories. In 2021 TX began deploying robots to 300 FamilyMart convenience stores. The company plans to use the new funding to expand its business reach in North America and to scale operational capabilities for mass production. TX is partnering with SoftBank Robotic Group to promote global collaboration and with Foxconn to establish production technology for its next-generation model, “GHOST”. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Japan, TX is moving from pilot deployments toward commercial-scale manufacturing and rollouts. Telexistence develops remote-controlled robotics and Telexistence® technology that fuses robotics, telecommunication, VR, haptics and AI to enable humans to operate across spatial and temporal scales. The company unveiled its Model‑T Robot in July 2020 and sells into offline retail and logistics customers. Telexistence says it is expanding its in‑house engineering team, accelerating product development, and upscaling deployment to a growing customer base. Jin Tomioka is CEO and co‑founder. The company has raised about $41 million to date since its 2017 inception. Recent partnerships include an October 2021 collaboration with FamilyMart and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry to advance operational infrastructure through robotics.
