- Fellow
Led · Series B · Jun 2022
Fellow designs and sells consumer coffee hardware and accessories, launching initially on Kickstarter with the Duo steeper in 2013 and later the Stagg electric pour-over kettle (2016) and the Ode grinder (2019). Its product suite also includes cups, vacuum-sealed storage containers and replacement parts such as an in-house second-generation burr set, and the brand emphasizes precise temperature control and product design. The Stagg kettle is widely used by baristas and coffee competitors, and the company is preparing new product launches and replacement burrs. Fellow says it grew 100% year-over-year for eight consecutive years, has about 85 employees, and has been profitable for the last five years. The company plans to expand product innovation, deepen educational content (including showrooms and online efforts), grow retail distribution, and partner with roasters to expand subscription offerings.
- The Citizenry
Led · Series B · Jun 2021
The Citizenry is a DTC home decor company that sources and partners with artisan communities worldwide to produce limited-edition, handcrafted, hand-numbered home goods. The founders, Rachel Bentley and Carly Nance, built a model prioritizing long-term partnerships and fair pay; the company says it pays artisans on average double the local minimum wage. The Citizenry is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization and has been undergoing WFTO verification for over eighteen months. Since its Series A in 2019 the company reports sales growth of over 200%, with repeat customers driving 45% of sales, and it has supported 3,000 global artisan jobs. In October the company opened its first brick-and-mortar store in SoHo, New York City, and it plans to expand its furniture category and scale its brick-and-mortar presence as it develops into a whole-home brand.
