OnePlanet Solar Recycling recovers materials from end-of-life photovoltaic (PV) modules and aims to reintroduce critical materials into U.S. supply chains. The company plans to build a facility designed to process over 2 million PV modules annually upon commissioning in 2027, with planned expansions to handle a total of 6 million modules by 2030. It intends to use the newly raised capital to support final engineering, permitting, and pre-construction activities for that facility. OnePlanet emphasizes a circular-economy approach to enable repeated reuse of materials. The company is led by CEO André Pujadas. Financially, OnePlanet closed a $7M seed round and in parallel its River City project was awarded a $14.5M Investment Tax Credit under the DOE’s Section 48C(e) Advanced Energy Project Program.

Nexus W2V develops waste-to-value infrastructure and integrated services that divert organic waste into renewable natural gas (RNG), compost products, and biochar. Its flagship Kingsbury Bioenergy Complex in La Porte, Indiana will process about 200 tons of source-separated organics daily and inject RNG into the local pipeline. The company offers end-to-end waste remediation for haulers, producers, and utilities and also plans full-scale municipal solid waste sorting and recovery systems. Nexus W2V says the Kingsbury project is the first of a series of nationwide projects and will serve as a blueprint for future facilities across North America. The facility is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2026 and to create roughly 35 local jobs. The company is led by industry veterans in industrial design, bioenergy development, and regenerative agriculture and has secured new capital to move construction forward.

Standard Biocarbon builds commercial biochar manufacturing capacity using state-of-the-art technology to produce consistently high-quality biochar for carbon removal. The company’s plant in Enfield, Maine will begin production in Q1 2024 and is estimated to produce 16,000 cubic yards of biochar annually. That production is expected to capture roughly 3,000 tons of carbon per year, positioning biochar as a long-duration carbon removal pathway. Biochar produced by the company has applications in agriculture, hazardous waste remediation, stormwater management, and in low-carbon cement, pavement and polymers. Founded in 2020 by Fred Horton and Tom Horton, Standard targets scalable CDR (carbon dioxide removal) and higher-value end markets. The recent funding is intended to scale operations at its Enfield facility to meet growing demand for carbon capture and biochar.

Switch Maritime designs and deploys hydrogen fuel cell-powered ferries, overseeing vessel design, permitting, construction, and integration of the hydrogen fuel supply chain. Its first vessel, the Sea Change, operates in San Francisco and the company reports the hydrogen ferry avoids about 1,190 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions annually compared with a conventional diesel vessel. Switch Maritime has received multiple grants to support vessel development but faces reimbursement timing gaps that have created a need for short-term financing. The company plans to expand operations into New York and international markets and is targeting replacement opportunities among roughly 800 diesel-powered ferries operating in the United States. To bridge cash-flow gaps and preserve equity while awaiting grant reimbursements, Switch Maritime secured non-dilutive bridge funding from Enduring Planet to support near-term project work and continued infrastructure development.
