  • KindiCare

    Led · Seed · May 2022

KindiCare is an edtech marketplace that operates an app and website. Its app and website syndicate Domain’s property listings, and Domain had included KindiCare’s listings on their app and website since September 2021. The partnership has evolved into a paid data licence agreement in addition to the investment. Domain Group (Nine Entertainment) led a $3.3 million seed round by pledging $1.2 million and is the largest individual investor. Founder and CEO Benjamin Balk, who founded the company less than a year ago, retains a majority stake. KindiCare has experienced rapid growth, recording more than 60,000 sessions on the app in March.

  • StyleTread

    Participated · Series C · Mar 2012

StyleTread is an Australian online shoe store modeled on Zappos principles. The company was founded in late 2010 by Mark Rowland and Bjorn Behrendt using incubation capital from Lakestar. Based in Melbourne, it competes with Samwer-backed Zappos clone Zalando. StyleTread secured a Series C financing of AUD$12 million led by Starfish Ventures, with participation from Lakestar, Nine Entertainment Co., and Adinvest. Nine Entertainment recently invested $4 million, and Starfish's investment will give it a significant stake. The increased investment by Nine Entertainment means StyleTread is now majority owned by Australian shareholders. Starfish Ventures, which led the round, manages over $400 million.
