Progentec is an Oklahoma City-based company developing next-generation diagnostics and digital therapeutics for the management of autoimmune diseases. The company combines clinically-validated diagnostic interventions with digital technologies to improve access and health outcomes for patients in areas with high unmet need. Its core work includes building a CLIA laboratory and digital platforms targeted at lupus management. Future plans funded by the round include research into digital biomarkers and enabling remote delivery of digital therapeutic programs. Led by CEO Mohan Purushothaman, Progentec will use the financing as go-to-market capital for its lab and digital products. The company recently closed a $5M Series A to advance these initiatives. Progentec Diagnostics develops biomarker-based diagnostic tests and platforms focused on lupus. Its core product suite includes tests to diagnose disease before symptoms, tools to monitor and predict disease activity levels, and a biomarker-based disease-activity index. Technology created by the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) underpins the platform. The company plans to use proceeds from its second funding round to bring a flare-up identification tool and the disease-activity index closer to commercialization. Progentec recently acquired LupusCorner and intends to integrate that patient-empowerment platform and its data insights into a first-in-class lupus-management offering; the founders of LupusCorner have joined the team.
